Beginning our Summer 2013 stay as the new Keepers of Seguin Lighthouse, Mary and I came to the Island Saturday, May 18 along with a dozen of Friends of Seguin workers. It was fascinating to meet such a large group of passionate volunteers.  We all spent about 4 hours setting up the systems that had been shut down for the Winter, working on new and continuing  maintenance and improvement projects and beginning mowing and raking.

Cyndy Carney and Michael Boonstra stayed over(until Wednesday) to continue teaching us the Island and working with us.  Michael is cooking a lot of our meals so its like we are at a B&B.

We spent all day Sunday on mowing and raking and trying to get ahead of grass overgrowth.  Today(Monday) its raining and foggy(foghorn is working) so  we'll probably do toilets and other projects.

We had our first visitors yesterday - 2 young men from Montreal - who kayaked over from Popham Beach State Park on their vacation.  Mary took a short break from raking and gave them a tour(they were here last year and met the Ramsey"s also).

Anyway, probably forgot some important stuff, but will try to catch up in a couple of days.
